The lineup for the Rocket Mortgage Classic, the PGA Tour's only annual stop in Detroit, has taken longer to come together this year. However, tournament organisers announced some new additions on Monday, just a week before the event at Detroit Golf Club from June 27-30.

Among the latest commitments are Cameron Young, currently ranked 23rd in the world and tied for second place at this event in 2022, and Akshay Bhatia, ranked 31st. Young is currently the highest-ranked player confirmed for the tournament. Additionally, major championship winners Stewart Cink, Zach Johnson, and Gary Woodland have been announced, along with four of the last eight winners on the PGA Tour this season: Chris Gotterup, Robert MacIntyre, Taylor Pendrith, and Davis Riley.

Previous commitments include defending champion and long-time Rocket spokesperson Rickie Fowler, Tom Kim, Will Zalatoris, Min Woo Lee, major winner Webb Simpson, and 15-year-old Miles Russell. The tournament will also see the debut of former British Open champion Francesco Molinari, who gained attention recently for making a hole-in-one on his final hole to cut the US Open.

The Rocket Mortgage Classic has secured commitments from 12 players ranked inside the top 50 in the world golf rankings but none from the top 20.

How is the cut line decided for the Rocket Mortgage Classic?

The cut line at 36 holes, which only the best golfers can make, has not been announced yet. It's determined by skill and talent, not by velvet ropes. The top 65 players and any lucky players who manage to tie their way into that elite group get to continue their quest for the championship prize.

However, the 2023 line was at -3, with 79 players showing off their skills that day.
