He is of Indian descent; his family immigrated to the US from Telangana, India, in the late 1980s. He completed his graduation from Pepperdine University. During his amateur career, he won 11 times, including the 2017 Sahalee Players Championship and the 2019 SCGA Amateur Championship.

Next season, he again had a few top-10s at the RSM Classic and Genesis Invitational, followed by his first professional PGA Tour win at the 2023 Fortinet Championship, over Kim Seong-hyeon by a score of 267, under 21, by two strokes.
