Justin Thomas is a professional American golfer, born on April 29, 1993, in Louisville, Kentucky. He began his golfing journey at a young age under the guidance of his father. He attended North Oldham Middle School and later graduated from St. Xavier High School in Louisville in 2011. Thomas continued his education at the University of Alabama before turning professional. He turned professional in 2013 and won his first PGA Tour win at the 2015 CIMB Classic (discontinued event in 2018), defeating Adam Scott by a single stroke. He defended his title the next season as well.

Thomas' 2017 season was notable, as he won five PGA Tour events, including the FedEx Cup. His win at the 2022 PGA Championship was noteworthy because he overcame a record-setting seven-shot deficit. He rose to the top spot in May 2018 and kept it for five weeks. As of April 2025, he has 17 professional victories and is rated ninth in the world. The PGA Championships in 2017 and 2022, the Players Championship in 2021, and the WGC tournaments in 2018 and 2020 are among his notable wins. He also won the 2017 FedEx Cup.

Justin Thomas' Caddie

Justin Thomas's caddie is Matt Minister as of April 2025.

Minister has played college golf for the University of Ohio and junior golf for Thomas Worthington High School in Worthington, Ohio. He has been a caddie for nearly two decades and has worked with Chris Kirk, Jeff Sluman, Sangmoon Bae, Joe Durant, Nick Price, Chip Beck, Eric Compton, Patrick Cantlay, David Eger, and Chris Smith.

Before Thomas, he caddied for Cantlay, but in April 2023, Cantlay hired Joe LaCava, ex-caddie of Tiger Woods. Around that time, Thomas split with Jim ‘Bones’ McKay, who is also a veteran caddie who worked with Phil Mickelson for nearly three decades. They split because Thomas failed to make the 2023 FedEx Cup playoffs and had a few more lows in the season (via Golf Monthly).
