The United States has the most Olympic medals in golf, leading with 13 medals, out of which five are gold, three are silver, and five are bronze. The second lead stays with Great Britain, with a total of three medals, one of each color. The margin between the two leading nations is ten medals, which makes all the difference. The game of golf was first included in the 1900 Paris Olympics, where America took two golds, both in the men's and women's, being Charles Sands and Margaret Abbott, respectively.
It was again scheduled for the 1904 St. Louis Olympics, with the exclusion of the women's category replaced with team events. Even then, America won one gold, two silvers, and three bronze medals. Moving forward, it took more than a century for the next golf Olympic event to take place, which was dropped in the first place due to disputes and a lack of entries. Matt Kuchar won a bronze medal for the USA at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and Xander Schauffele won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, followed by Nelly Korda, who won another gold at the same event.
