One of the primary reasons is that Minecraft is currently running in compatibility mode for the new console. Mojang has not yet developed a native build for the new console, and it is essentially a reskin of the existing build without any optimization for the hardware and resolution of of this new console.

This has resulted in an array of limitations for the gameplay, including the Render Distance being capped to 12 chunks, and the Anti-Aliasing parameter has been limited to 2. Additionally, many users have complained that Redstone mechanics are glitching or creating issues while being run in Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Another important aspect of the Switch 2 is the introduction of the ability to use the Joy-Cons as a mouse, allowing players to navigate, point, and shoot with them. However, this major quality-of-life feature is currently not supported in Minecraft on this console. Mojang will need to create a new build that incorporates this new feature, allowing gamers more flexibility in their play style.

Additionally, the upcoming Vibrant Visuals is set to be one of the biggest updates to the game in decades, significantly transforming the visual style of the game. However, it seems that players will have to wait for a native build for the Switch 2 to try this new overhaul, as well as much-needed improvements to certain issues.

Gamers will have to wait for an announcement from the developers to see when a Switch 2 upgrade is pushed out for this brand-new handheld console.
