The surface in ARK Survival Ascended Aberration is one of the most dangerous locations across all maps, crawling with deadly creatures like the Reaper King, Nameless, and Seekers. Additionally, the intense heat during the day causes the ground to set aflame, killing your character instantly. Despite these risks, exploring the surface during nighttime is highly rewarding, as there is an abundance of rare resources and Supply Crates filled with high-quality items.
This article lists all the surface entrance locations in ARK Survival Ascended Aberration.

When is it safe to explore the surface in ARK Survival Ascended Aberration?
As mentioned, the extreme heat during the daytime sets the entire surface aflame, instantly killing your character if you attempt to explore it. However, temperatures become manageable during the nighttime, from around 6 pm to 5 am, allowing you to safely explore without being set on fire.
That said, the day/night cycle on the Aberration map changes with the following three Seasons:
- 50% Day / 50% Night Season
- 90% Day / 10% Night Season
- 10% Day / 90% Night Season
Like the rest of the Aberration map, the surface is downright dangerous if you are unaware of the mechanics and/or the precise timings of the molten daylight.
In the original ARK Survival Evolved Aberration map, these affected the pace at which time would pass during day and night. However, in Ark Sruvival Ascended, this makes it so that day and night starts at different times on different entrances depending on the season.
Thanks to the observations made by Youtuber Munyang, we now know the expected day/night timing for each season. Here are the times for surface entrances in the green zone:
On the other hand, here are the timings for the southern entrances (Blue/Purple zone):
As you may have noticed, the daylight timings in the same season are not the same for all surface entry points. Daytime usually takes a little less than two hours to reach the south-western surface exits compare to those in the north.
