Dune Awakening: How to survive Radiation

If the extreme heat of Arrakis in Dune Awakening wasn't enough to worry about, there are also radioactive zones. While some of it is due to the planet's proximity to its star, Canopus, it's not the sole reason radiation is present on the planet. In most instances, it's not strong enough to make you grow an extra arm like in Fallout 76, but it can be lethal in large doses.

By now, you might be wondering, "Why should I worry about radioactive zones?"

Much like other MMOs, in Dune Awakening, some of the best loot can be found in hostile and dangerous locations; in this scenario, radioactive zones. For instance, in the Vermillius Gap, you will come across a POI called The Anomaly that has Unique schematics. To find it, you'll need to learn how to survive radiation. This article explains how.

How to survive Radiation in Dune Awakening

If you plan on skimming the edges of a radioactive zone, there's no need to worry. However, if you wish to venture deep into the radiation and stay a while, you'll need to craft a Radiation Suit.

This will take some time to unlock, as it only becomes available after you complete the Fourth Trial and Fifth Trial of Aql. You'll also need 20 Intel and a Garment Fabricator to craft a Radiation Suit. Here's a list of materials you'll need:

Water (x340)
Aluminium Ingot (x35)
Plasteel Microflora Fiber (x21)
Silicone Block (x25)

Water should be easy enough to get by now, and you should have enough Aluminium Ingots, that is, if you've collected Aluminium Ore and refined it. The tricky part is getting Plasteel Microflora Fibers. Silicone Blocks can be crafted from Sand Flour, so that's not a problem for the most part.

Once you have everything listed, you'll be able to craft yourself a Radiation Suit Mk4. This is the base variant, and two other higher tiers can be crafted: Radiation Suit Mk5 and Radiation Suit Mk6. The resources required to craft them are even harder to find. Nevertheless, the base model should suffice for your basic needs.
