In Dune Awakening, the Swordmaster is perhaps one of the few classes that prefers getting into a fist-fight... with swords. While the Sardaukar are exemplary warriors, even they would think twice before going head-to-head with a Swordmaster. But what is a Swordmaster?

While anyone can wield a blade, the Swordmaster trains their entire life to become one with it. Their blade is not just a weapon but an extension of their will. As such, when facing them in battle, you'd best be prepared to meet your end or run before the fight commences. If you'd like to follow in their footsteps, here's how to go out training your Swordmaster skills.

If you didn't pick Swordmaster as your starting class and feel left out when melee combat ensues, there's no need to fret. There's always a way to learn the skills needed to become one with the blade. First, you'll have to do a bit of legwork and travel to the northern regions of the map.

There, you'll need to find an NPC called Arno. He'll be in the Jabal Eifit area, just a bit north of the Shield Wall, at a place called Pinnacle Station. It shouldn't be too hard to find. If you need a bit more help with the location, head north from The Wreck of the Pallas, which is situated in the Western Vermillius Gap.

Once you talk to him, he'll give you a basic task to complete. Do it, and he'll then divulge the secrets of the Swordmaster, allowing you to invest points into the skill tree.

Once you've had your fun practicing with the blade, you'll eventually want to hone your skills even further. While you may be diligent, knowledge cannot be learned out of thin air. To process as a Swordmaster, you will have to seek out a knowledgeable individual of the highest order — in your case, Seron Varlin.

As mentioned, anyone can wield a blade to cut their opponent; it's not rocket science, but only a Swordmaster can use the blade as intended. As you progress, you'll realize the importance of using a sword, especially when you come up against shielded enemies in Dune Awakening. Most projectiles bounce off the kinetic barrier, and you're left running for the hills.

Aside from being skilled with blades, Swordmasters have also mastered the art of survival. Through their training, they are more attuned to the hardships of the desert and can survive in harsh conditions, unlike others. With an array of abilities that unleash a flurry of strikes on enemies, there's a reason why they are feared and respected.
