Aaron Michael Nola is a professional baseball player hailing from the United States. He is a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on June 4, 1993 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States, Aaron Nola got inspired to play baseball by watching his older brother Austin Nola.


He made his MLB career debut with the Philadelphia Phillies on June 21, 2015. He has since developed himself as one of the established players in MLB in modern times. He created a record of 10 strikeouts, considered to be the most consecutive strikeouts in a game, thereby tying with Corbin Burnes and Tom Seaver. He became an MLB All-Star player in 2018 and a member of the All-MLB Second Team in 2022. He has managed to impress the fans of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Aaron Nola’s Early Life

Aaron Nola was born and grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. He got interested in baseball after seeing his older brother Austin Nola play the game. His father trained him during Little League Baseball Games. He started playing baseball at Catholic High School in Louisiana. Unfortunately he was injured with a fracture on his back causing a summer growth spurt of 6 inches forced him to be out of his freshman season. He still contributed to his team and helped them to appear in state playoffs twice. During his senior year, he was given the title of “Mr. Baseball'' by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association for being a good quality player.


After school, Aaron Nola enrolled at the Louisiana State University and played baseball for the LSU Tigers. He was chosen by the Toronto Blue Jays during the 2011 MLB Draft but he declined the offer. As a member of the LSU Tigers, his performance against the Mississippi State Bulldogs led his coach to believe that Aaron Nola could be a great pitcher someday. This further inspired him to improve himself. He also participated in the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) as a member of the Harwich Mariners and impressed everyone with his performance.


During his second season at LSU Tigers, Aaron Nola had first shutout game against the Alabama Crimson Tides. He created a record of four straight game wins in a game against the Florida Gators. For his contributions throughout the season, he was honored with the Corbett Award and was also finalist for the National Pitcher of the Year Award. Aaron Nola was also a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and the Golden Spikes Award. He was also roommates with fellow MLB player Alex Bregman during his college years. Both of them were also chosen for the members of the preseason first-team All Americans.
