Kayla Harrison is one of the leading professional mixed martial artists and an Olympic and world champion judoka from America. She was an active competitor of judo in the past, where she competed in the 78 kg weight category. Harrison won the 2010 World Judo Championships and also became a recipient of gold medals at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.

After a successful career in judo, Kayla Harrison switched to professional mixed martial arts in 2016. She signed with the PFL and competed in its lightweight division. Harrison made her debut in the UFC at UFC 300 in a bantamweight showdown against the former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm. She defeated her by a second-round submission and entered the prized promotion with a win. She is scheduled to challenge the reigning bantamweight champion Julianna Pena at UFC 316 for the bantamweight title.
