Sharad Lumba Biography

Sharad Rajinder Lumba is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Punjab state team and the Indian Premier League team Mumbai Indians as a middle order batsman.

Born on 10 September 1989 in Amritsar, Punjab, Lumba is a right handed batsman and an off-break bowler.

Domestic career

Sharad has previously represented the U-17, U-19, U-22 and U-25 teams of Punjab consistently, and has held onto his place in the team with many impressive performances.

He made his T20 debut on 1 April 2014 in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Haryana at Chandigarh.

He had a forgettable debut as he managed just two runs before being dismissed. Haryana won the match by 32 runs.

In the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy group stage match against Rajasthan at Kolkata, held on 25 January 2018, Sharad scored 31 off 26 balls, helping his side to a narrow five-run victory.

Sharad has played 11 T20s games till date, scoring 185 runs at an average of 18.5 which includes five fours and eleven sixes.

Club career

Sharad Lumba was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 20 lakhs in the 2018 IPL auction.
