When Aggron uses Mega Energy in Pokemon GO, it evolves into its most potent form, Mega Aggron. The Pokemon then becomes a solo Steel-type Pokemon, but the Standard Aggron remains the same Steel and Rock-type species. If one has a Mega Pokemon with the proper set of attacks, it becomes a reliable pick with fewer weaknesses.

With the help of this Mega Aggron guide, you can learn the best moveset and counter for it and know its worth in the game.

Aggron and Mega Aggron have the same number and type of moves but the difference is their battle power. The latter has multiple Rock-type attacks dealing significant damage output. Also, with so many options for STAB moves, one must select a moveset with the maximum Damage Per Second (DPS) and Total Damage Output (TDO).

If Mega Aggron learns its best PvE moveset, which is Iron Tail and Meteor Beam, it becomes a powerful attacker in Raids and Gym battles. On the other hand, its best PvP moveset is Iron Tail, Meteor Beam + Heavy Slam in Trainers Battle, which is also a praise-worthy force.

Pokemon GO Battle League doesn't allow Mega Aggron or any Mega Pokemon to play in the game. It is generally used when Niantic brings back different battle formats during events.

Is Mega Aggron good in Pokemon GO PvP and PvE?

One way to measure a Pokemon's performance in PvP and PvE is to study its stat distribution, consistency of moves, weaknesses, strengths, and TDO and DPS.

When Mega Aggron, with a perfect set of attacks, is used in PvE gameplay, such as Raids and Gyms, it has a DPS of 15.33 and a TDO of 688.52. For not having its best moveset, Iron Tail and Heavy Slam can be used, but there will be a 3.1% difference in TDO and DPS between the two given picks.

The proper PvP moveset for Mega Aggron in PvE play is super-effective against Rock, Ice, Fairy, Flying, Bug, and Fire-type Pokemon. It has the highest TDO and DPS, but since it is only limited to Trainers Battle, it has no role in the GO Battle League.
