Pokemon GO's Dynamax transformations have gone live, and trainers have set out into the world to find Power Spots and accumulate Max Particles. These can be used to fuel the Max Moves of Dynamax Pokemon and to enter Max Battles. However, only so many Max Particles can be received per day, but a GO Redditor may have found the most efficient way to farm Max Particles daily. For >1,000 Max particles in a day, visit either 1, 4, or 6 Power Spots and walk. But visiting 0, 2, 3, 5, 7 Power Spots PREVENTS you from reaching 1,000 Max Particles. byu/mybham inTheSilphRoadAccording to The Silph Road Redditor u/Mybham, while many Pokemon GO players assumed that 800 Max Particles were the maximum allotment per day, there is a way to collect more. By interacting with exactly four Power Spots, walking at least two kilometers, and subsequently walking an additional two kilometers, players can collect 1,080 Max Particles per day.It appears that once trainers reach 800 or more Max Particles in a day, in-game mechanics step in and prohibit any more particles from being collected. However, by using the right combination of walking and Power Spot interactions, Pokemon GO trainers can claim over 1,000 particles before the game interjects and cuts off additional particle gains. As one might expect, this was quite surprising for trainers who were under the assumption that there was no way around the 800 particles per day "limit". However, more than a few fans found it perplexing that Niantic would introduce Max Particles in this way, stating it doesn't make much sense to change particle allotments based on what order players perform tasks in.Trainers discuss the confusing workings of the Max Particles mechanic (Image via Reddit)Considering collecting 1,000 Max Particles results in an encounter with a Pokemon who can Dynamax (currently, the encounter is Wooloo), it would make more sense for Niantic to set a 1,000 particles per day daily limit. Sure, this might allow some trainers to rack up plenty of catches of Dynamax-capable Pokemon, but not all players would hit this limit daily.Trainers haven't approved of how Max Particles have been limited so far (Image via Reddit)Whatever the case, unless Niantic makes changes going forward in the Max Out season, it appears that interacting with four Power Points and walking 2km, then walking two additional kilometers will be the most productive way to get the Max Particles players need.Should Niantic change the way it limits Max Particles in Pokemon GO?Power Spots and Max Particles as seen in Pokemon GO (Image via Niantic) While Niantic surely wants Pokemon GO players to accumulate Max Particles and Dynamax their Pokemon to participate in Max Battles, the developer probably doesn't want them hoarding Max Particles too quickly. Racking up a ton of Dynamax Pokemon for a player's collection could present issues with game balance for future Max Battles and other challenges in the Max Out season. It's for this reason that Niantic may see fit to change the way that Max Particles are collected or limited per day, ensuring that Pokemon GO trainers don't collect a huge abundance in a short timeframe. That said, there's a lot that can change with Dynamax transformations, Max Battles, and Max Particles in the future since they're all incredibly new arrivals.Only time will tell if Niantic sticks to its guns with how limits are currently used for Max Particles in Pokemon GO, or if it decides that a course correction is needed.
