The Asian Games Schedule 2023 is set to get underway on September 23 in Hangzhou, China. This is the third time China will be hosting the Asian Games after the 1990 and 2010 events. Athletes from 45 countries will compete in 40 sports across 61 disciplines. A total of 56 venues will be used in and around Hangzhou with 481 gold medals on offer.
The opening ceremony will be held on September 23, in Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium. The official slogan of the Asian Games 2022 is "Heart to Heart, @Future". The official theme song of the Games, "With You and Me", was performed by Angela Zhang, Jackson Wang, Sunnee and JC-T.
The three mascots of the games, collectively known as the "Memories of Jiangnan" were revealed on 3rd April 2020. The emblem of the tournament, "Surging Tides", was designed to echo a traditional hand fan, a running track, the Qiantang river and radio waves.

India is sending a contingent of 655 athletes, 85 more than their previous list in Jakarta. In 2018, India returned with a haul of 70 medals. The men’s and women’s Indian cricket teams will be making their debut on the Asian Games stage.
With 68 athletes in track and field, India is fielding its largest ever representation for a single sport. Players like Neeraj Chopra, Rohan Bopanna and Bajrang Punia among others will be defending their gold medals. Boxing and hockey will serve as qualifying sports for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The 19th edition of the Asian Games Schedule was to take place on 10 to 25 September 2022 but got postponed to 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The closing ceremony will take place on 8th October, 2023. India is looking to breach the 100-medal mark this time around and best their previous record haul in Indonesia.
