Kasper Magnussen early days

Kasper Magnussen began his hockey journey in Norway, where he played for Stjernen Hockey in various junior leagues. His talent quickly became evident as he excelled in the Norway U16, U18, and U21 leagues. Seeking further development, Kasper moved to Sweden to compete with Leksands IF, where he spent three seasons in the highly competitive J20 Nationell league as per EliteSports. During his time there, he honed his skills against top-tier talent and contributed significantly, recording 30 points in the 2022-23 season.

"I was like a small, quick player out there dingling and dangling. But (Kasper) has skill, too, and he works hard at it. He’s tougher than me. He’s not scared of anybody.”

Kasper’s mother Jannik is equally supportive, as is his grandfather, who never misses a game, even when they’re played thousands of miles away. Trond and Jannik often stay up into the early hours of the morning to watch Kasper play, such as his historic first collegiate goal for Bemidji State.

In December 2023, Trond, Jannik, and Kasper’s grandfather traveled to the United States to watch Kasper play in person, marking the grandfather’s first trip to America.

Kasper Magnussen represented Norway at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship. A native of Fredrikstad, Norway, Magnussen was among the 23 players chosen after a week-long training camp in Ulricehamn, Sweden.
