Pavel Zacha is a professional ice hockey player for the Boston Bruins in the NHL. Born on April 6, 1997, in Brno, Czech Republic, Zacha plays as a center and left wing. Drafted sixth overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, he began his career in the Czech Extraliga before excelling with the Sarnia Sting in the OHL where he earned accolades for his penalty-killing prowess. Zacha has also represented the Czech Republic in multiple World Junior Championships.

Over the years, he worked as a police officer, advertising executive, supermarket owner, tennis academy founder, and lawyer as per The Athletics.

“He basically planned it before I was born,” Pavel Jr. Zacha said about his father’s detailed approach to raising him to The Athletics.

From the moment Pavel Jr. arrived, Pavel Sr. built a life around developing his son’s athletic and intellectual capabilities. The family relocated from their urban apartment in Brno to Velke Mezirici, a town with cleaner air and more space, where he established a gym in their basement to kickstart Pavel Jr.'s training.

Zacha's mother Ilona Zacha is a banker by profession. She was the family’s financial backbone. While Pavel Sr. dedicated himself to coaching and managing their children’s activities, Ilona ensured the family’s financial stability.
