Alex Ferreira's Medals

Alex Ferreira is an American halfpipe skier. Hailing from Aspen, Colorado, Ferreira began competing in skiing at the age of 10. Before switching to halfpipe, Ferreira used to ski moguls (via U.S Ski and Snowboard’s official website). Alex’s first breakthrough came in 2012 when he achieved a victory at the Gatorade Free Flow Finals youth halfpipe competition hosted by Snowbasin Ski Resort in Utah. His win in 2012 led to him getting invited to a professional competition called Dew Tour the following year.

The 11-time World Cup winner in Half-pipe skiing, Ferreira, has also finished 16 times on the podium during the World Cup. The 30-year-old (as of July 2025) skier was part of the club known as the Aspen Valley Ski Club between the ages of 8 and 18. On the personal front, Ferreira loves rollerblading, mountain biking, cycling, trampoline, and yoga, as per his page on Team USA.

How many medals has Alex Ferreira won?

As of July 2025, Alex Ferreira has won eleven medals, including two Olympic, seven X Games, and two World Championship medals. He won his first gold medal at the 2019 Winter X Games XXIII, held in his hometown of Aspen, Colorado. He also won gold medals two other times in the Winter X Games 2020 and 2024. Aside from the Gold medal, Ferreira has also won two silver medals (2016 Oslo and 2018 Aspen) and two Bronze medals (2014 Aspen and 2015 Aspen) at Winter X Games.

However, Ferreira has yet to win a gold medal in either the Olympics or the World Championships. His best performance at the World Championships has been able to land him two Bronze medals (the 2023 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships at Bakuriani and the 2025 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships at Engadin). However, at the Olympics, the closest Ferreira has managed to come to winning a gold medal was at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, where he accumulated a silver medal. In the 2022 Winter Olympics, Ferreira finished with a bronze medal in Beijing.
