Alyssa Mendoza is an Olympic boxer from the state of Idaho, United States. She will represent Team USA at 57 kg at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Mendoza will also be the youngest boxer on the team at 20 years of age.

Notable for her southpaw stance during bouts, Alyssa Mendoza ranked #1 in the USA Boxing Youth National Championships in 2019 and followed that up with a rank of #3 in 2021. She ranked second in the USA Boxing National Qualifier in 2022 and also won the National Golden Gloves, USA Boxing Summer Festival and USA Boxing Elite National Championships in 2022.

She has a 28.95 percentage KO rate in 49 bouts and 124 rounds. This has earned her the nickname “Wrecking Machine”.

JR Mendoza is the father of Alyssa Mendoza. He reportedly worked as a plumber during the daytime and was also a boxer, having learned the sport from his father. Later, JR Mendoza served as a trainer for his children, which started with his oldest son Brandon while he was just nine years old. While he trained his own children initially, he also started coaching other youngsters later.
