Carissa Moore, one of the greatest female surfers of all time, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 27, 1992. Notably, she is the first woman to win an Olympic gold medal in surfing and a five-time world champion (2011, 2013, 2015, 2019, and 2021). Moore declared in January 2024 that she would give up surfing following her participation in the Olympics in Paris later that year.

Starting in 2004, at the age of eleven, Moore won an unprecedented eleven titles in the National Scholastic Surfing Association's (NSSA) national amateur tournament. She won three NSSA classes that year, becoming just the second competitor in history to achieve an amateur Triple Crown. Moore won his first Triple Crown race at the age of sixteen.

Throughout her professional career, she has recorded 29 WSL Championship Tour event wins, secured 11 NSSA Titles, an Olympic gold medal, two US Open of Surfing titles and three Triple Crown of Surfing titles, in addition to her five World Champion honors.
