Hailing from Oceanside, California, Garrett Muagututia is an American professional volleyball player who was born on February 26, 1988. The 6-foot-5-inch athlete is an outside hitter who started his volleyball career in college at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Ever since then, he has played in various events such as the FIVB World Cup, the FIVB Nations League, the FIVB World League, the Pan American Cup, and the NORCECA Championship. As of August 2024, his club is Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, where he wears jersey number 18.

At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the outside hitter is playing from Team USA's men's volleyball roster, and the team has defeated Brazil in the quarterfinals to move on to the semifinals on August 7. He has also played at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics. His father, Faauuga, also competed in three sports at Carson High School before joining the Navy SEAL. Faauuga represented American Samoa in the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer as a bobsledder, along with playing volleyball for the Navy team.
