Born on September 19, 1998, in Park City, Utah, Haley Batten is a well-known name in the cross-country mountain biking community. She began biking at the tender age of 14. She has been marked by a series of impressive achievements, underscoring her dedication and talent in the sport. Early in her career, she won national titles at both junior and U23 levels. She also clinched a U23 World Cup Victory. She won a silver medal at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championship in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada when she was a part of the USA team relay in 2019. Batten rode for the Clif Pro Team from 2016 to 2019 before transitioning to Specialized Racing in 2020, Trinity Racing in 2021, and finally, Specialized Factory Racing from 2022 onwards. She secured a third-place finish at her debut race in Albstadt, Germany in the World Cup XCO scene in 2021. She won in the short-track cross-country MTB World Cup race in the Czech Republic on May 14, 2021. She finished second at the Nové Město XCO World Cup race thereby meeting USA Cycling’s automatic criteria for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics just a day later.

She captured a bronze medal in the Maripora XCO and also claimed first place in both the XCC and XCO events in Araxa during the first World Cup in Brazil in 2024. These victories made her into the leader jerseys for both XCC and XCO disciplines. She finished third in the XCC and second in the XCO at the third World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě. At the fourth World Cup at Val di Sole, Batten was ranked first in XCO. These performances in Brazil secured her qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
