Kyle Snyder, an American wrestler, has qualified for his third Olympics, the 2024 Paris Olympics. He clinched gold in the 97 kg freestyle category at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Trials at Penn State and booked his berth at the 2024 Summer Games. Snyder was born on November 20, 1995, in Woodbine, Maryland, U.S., and has been wrestling since the tender age of five.

He is the youngest Olympic gold medalist and the youngest world champion in American wrestling history. Adding to this, the Maryland native is also the youngest wrestler ever to triumph at the World, NCAA, and Olympic Championships in the same year. He made his Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where he won gold in the 97 kg category followed by his second appearance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where he bagged a silver medal in the same weight category.

He is currently ranked No.1 in the 97 kg weight class on Team USA and has completed ten years of competing for the national team. Along with this, Snyder is a three-time World Champion (2015, 2017, and 2022), a two-time world silver medalist (2018, 2021), and a two-time world bronze medalist (2019, 2023).

Kyle Snyder also reigned in the Pan American Championships securing six gold medals in the event (2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023). He attended Ohio State College and had a notable collegiate wrestling career. He is a three-time NCAA champion for Ohio State (2016, 2017, and 2018) and a four-time finalist.

Along with these impressive feats, Snyder is also the recipient of some exceptional awards and titles including 2017 Team USA Male Olympic Athlete of the Year, 2017 AAU Sullivan Award winner as the nation’s top amateur athlete, 2015 USA Wrestling Freestyle Wrestler of the Year, 2015 US Open Outstanding Wrestler, and 2013 ASICS High School Wrestler of the Year.
