Lily Zhang is an American table tennis player, who started playing professionally from the age of seven. She was born on June 16, 1996, in Redwood City, California. She completed her high school studies from Palo Alto High School and pursued her further studies from the University of California, Berkeley. She made the US Cadet team and by the time she was 12, she became the youngest player to ever be selected for the US Women’s Team. Following this, in 2013, she was ranked No.2 in the Junior Women's table tennis player in the US.

Zhang continued competing in various competitions and produced one of her best performances at the 2010 and 2011 US National Championships. Following this, she achieved her first win in the national championship in women’s singles by trouncing Ariel Hsing. She had an accomplished career, with her multiple achievements and participations, including the 2011 Pan American Games, where she won a bronze medal in the women’s singles. She has also won the US national championship in several years, including the 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022.

The daughter of Bo Zhang and Linda Liu, Lily Zhang has now qualified for the Paris Olympics. She is poised to compete in her fourth Olympic Games in France's capital after delivering a notable performance and becoming the highest ranked player in the US, and is also within the top 50 of the International Table Tennis Federation. The 28-year-old will now be seen competing at the 2024 Summer Games, which is slated for July 26 - August 11.
