
Red Gerard is an American snowboarder. During the 2016–17 FIS Snowboard World Cup, Gerard won the Mammoth World Cup, placed third at the Kreischberg World Cup, and won the slopestyle division overall. The next season, Gerard won the Snowmass World Cup's slopestyle competition and finished second in the Milan World Cup's big air competition.
Gerard competed in the big air and slopestyle events at the 2018 Winter Olympics, marking his first Olympic appearance for the United States. In slopestyle, he took home the gold. He was the first individual to win a medal at the Winter Olympics and was born in the 2000s. Gerard was also the first American to earn a gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics and the youngest American to win a medal in an Olympic snowboarding discipline.
