Vincent Hancock is a well-known American sport shooter and Olympian specializing in skeet shooting. Born on March 19, 1989, in Port Charlotte, Florida, Hancock stands at 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 80 kilograms. He attended Troy University in Troy, Alabama, and graduated with a Business Management Degree in 2014.

Hancock has also served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit where he established his name as one of the most decorated shooters. His achievements include a total of 29 medals from various world competitions, including the Olympics. He won three Olympic gold medals, in 2008, 2012, and 2020, and has participated in nine World Championships, winning three men's skeet World Championships in 2015.

Vincent Hancock High School career

Vincent Hancock attended Gatewood High School in Eatonton, Georgia. His high school years were marked by significant success that built the stage for his future victories in skeet shooting and his military career.

Vincent started shooting at an early age, by the age of 16, he earned his first world title in skeet shooting in 2005. Due to his remarkable victories at a very young age, he gained the attention of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, leading to his recruitment into the U.S. Army.

In June 2006, just after finishing his junior year at Gatewood High School, Hancock attended Army basic training. He spent the entire summer in boot camp, returning to school for his senior year in exceptional physical shape.

During his senior year, Vincent Hancock's hard work paid off as he earned straight A's. After finishing high school, he postponed his Army training to compete in the Olympic selection matches where he qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He won the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, becoming an Olympic champion shortly after graduating.

Where did Vincent Hancock go to college?

After Gatewood School in Eatonton, Vincent went to Troy University in Troy, Alabama, where he graduated in 2014 with a degree in business management. He excelled in sports along with studies at Troy University, gaining valuable experience.

During his college years, he was also a member of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, where he served both as an athlete and an instructor. This dual role enabled him to hone his shooting skills while contributing to the training of other marksmen.

Currently, Hancock is preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will be his fifth Olympic Games. He aims to compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as his final competition before retiring.

Additionally, Hancock is also involved in coaching and developing young shooters. He co-founded Northlake Shooting Sports in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where he trains high school students, including his daughters, and works with professional shooters.
