Marcel Barthel is a German Professional Wrestler, who is currently signed with WWE and performs on the Raw brand. He currently performs under the ring name Ludwig Kaiser and is the member of popular heel stable Imperium with Gunther and Giovanni Vinci. He is also known for his time in Westside Xtreme Wrestling (WXW), where he wrestled under the ring name Axel Dieter Jr., where he was a one-time WXW Unified World Wrestling Champion and two time WXW World Tag Team Champion.

Dieter made his pro-wrestling debut at Westside Xtreme Wrestling (WXW) in 2009 and wrestled for the first eight years there. He formed a tag team with Da Mack dubbing themselves as Hot And Spicy. In November 2013, they became WXW World Tag Team Champions for the first time by defeating Walter and Robert Dreissker of The Autsiders. They successfully defended their tag team championship against almost all the tag teams and dropped the championships to Matt Striker and Trent. However they regained the championship the next day and had a combined reign for almost a year. Their championship run came to an end after losing to French Flavour. In 2016, Dieter won his first World Championship, by defeating Marty Scrull. He held the championship for four months and dropped it to Jun Simmons. Later the same year, Dieter announced his departure to pursue a career outside Germany.

Dieter moved to the United Kingdom and wrestled for Progress Wrestling, where he joined alliance with his former rival Walter and had unsuccessful pursuits for the British Strongstyle Championship.

After a brief run, Dieter signed a developmental contract with WWE and was assigned to wrestle for NXT and NXT UK brands. He debuted under the ring name Marcel Barthel. Barthel joined hands with Fabian Aichner and aligned themselves with Walter and Alexander Wolfe to form Imperium. Aichner and Barthel worked as a tag team and became two time NXT UK Tag Team Champions.

Barthel changed his name to Ludwig Kaiser and made his main roster debut with Gunther (fka Walter) in 2022 under the SmackDown brand. He accompanied and assisted Gunther and was joined by Giovani Vinci (fka Fabian Aichner) later. Kaiser along with their Imperium teammates are now in the Raw brand as one of the greatest heel trio.
