After the 2023 WWE Draft, the RAW Women's Champion Bianca Belair was drafted to SmackDown. The belt was then renamed to WWE Women's Championship while the SmackDown Women's Championship was renamed to Women's World Championship. She lost the title to Asuka at WWE Night of Champions before winning it back at WWE SummerSlam. Her celebration was short-lived as Iyo Sky cashed in her Money in the Bank to win the title. Sky went on to hold the belt for 246 days before dropping it to her former friend Bayley at WrestleMania XL Night Two.
