Byron Buxton is an American a center fielder and designated hitter for the Minnesota Twins in the Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born in Baxley, Georgia, United States on December 18, 1993. Buxton attended Appling County High School in Baxley. He played three different sports in high school, namely baseball, basketball, and football. He was selected for a baseball scholarship program at University of Georgia later on.

Buxton was selected as the second overall pick in the first round of the 2012 MLB draft by the Minnesota Twins. He made his debut with the Twins in 2015 and has been with the same team ever since. Buxton was an All-Star in 2022, and a Gold Glove Award winner in 2017. He also won the Platinum Glove Award the same year.
