Corey Seager was born on April 27, 1994, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He made his MLB debut for the Dodgers on September 3, 2015. He is a 4-time All-Star in 2016, 2017, 2022 and 2023. On August 3, he was promoted to the Class A-Advanced California League's Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

This contract was bigger than Alex Rodriguez's record 2 million agreement from 2000, making it the richest in Rangers franchise history. Among all big league batters in 2022, Seager batted 245/ 317/ 455 and had the lowest called strike percentage (9.0%) even if it was a career low for his hitting average. He did hit 33 home runs, a career-high, in 245.
