Framber Valdez is a Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher for the Houston Astros. He was born in the Dominican Republic on November 19, 1993. He signed with the Houston Astros in 2015 as an international free agent. He made his Major League debut on August 21, 2018, winning with a 4+1/3 inning pitching save. In 2019, Valdez split the season between the Round Rock Express and the Houston Astros. He pitched 44+1⁄3 innings and was 5–2 with a 3.25 ERA while with Round Rock. He was 4–7 with a 5.86 ERA in 70+2⁄3 innings while pitching for Houston.
In 2022, Valdez was named to the All-MLB First Team for the first time. Framber Valdez won his first championship title in 2022 as the Astros won the World Series following a victory in Game 2. For six innings, Valdez pitched in the crucial Game 6. He also made the All-MLB first team in 2023. He pitched a no-hitter on August 1, 2023, and was again named to an All-Star game.
