Ichiro Suzuki was a Japanese professional baseball player. He was active in Nippon Professional Baseball from 1992 to 2000. He came to the US in 2001 and signed with the Seattle Mariners in the same year. He played for the team till 2012 and signed with the New York Yankees for the next season and played two years with them. He has also played for Miami Marlins and retired with the Seattle Mariners in 2019.

Ichiro is a ten-time All-Star, ten-time Gold Glove award winner, three-time Silver Slugger award winner, and two-time AL batting champion. He was the AL MVP, AL Rookie of the Year, and AL stolen base leader in 2001. He also set a record for the single-season hits with his 262 hits.
