Jacob Gonzalez was born on May 30, 2002, in Glendora, California. He attended Glendora High School where he played baseball and football. During his high school career, he scored a batting average of .390 with 4 home runs, 74 RBIs with 119 hits. Later, he enrolled in Ole Miss and started playing collegiate baseball for them. In his freshman year in 2021, he notched up a batting average of .355 with 16 doubles, 55 RBIs and 12 home runs. In his sophomore year in 2022, he scored 18 home runs and 52 RBIs. He led Ole Miss to their first-ever NCAA Championship. He also played for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. Jacob Gonzalez is a solid hitter and has the ability to use the entire field for hitting purposes. He also has good instincts and rhythm, which helps in his shortstop position.
