The Kansas City Royals are one of the teams to go into the MLB Division Series in 2024. Originating in 1969, the team were formed after the Kansas City Athletics relocated to Oakland, California, United States after the 1967 season and became the Oakland Athletics. The team have since then belonged to the American League and have been part of the AL West and AL Central Divisions in their career. They have won the World Series titles two times in their career.

Besides winning the World Series titles, the Kansas City Royals have also won the American League (AL) pennants four times in their career. Moreover, they have also won seven AL West titles and three AL Central titles. The team have been using Kauffman Stadium as their home ground since 1973. The Kansas City Royals have also become the rivals of the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Yankees.

He is portrayed by Brad Collins who describes Sluggerrr as witty, energetic, fan-friendly, and family friendly. Sluggerrr made his MLB debut on April 5, 1996, and was declared the official mascot for the Kansas City Royals as per the MLB official site.   • Sluggerrr interviewed dogs about their thoughts on cats, wet food or dry food, and walks or parks during Bark at the Park on September 4, 2024. While some dogs hilariously ran away from him, others gave him their insightful answers related to the questions. Some even tried to eat the ball that served as the mike.

  • Sluggerrr was seen to be embarrassed and facepalming himself on August 24, 2024, because he let his Gen Z employee edit a video of him only for the employee to send him a video of his embarrassing moments.
