Manuel Arturo Machado was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles with the 3rd overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft. The veteran 3rd baseman is notable for playing 6 MLB All-Star games. He is also the winner of the Gold Glove Award twice, the Platinum Glove Award and the Silver Slugger Award.

Hailing from Miami, Florida, United States, Machado made his MLB debut with the Orioles on August 9, 2012. In the 2013 MLB season, he was the AL doubles hit leader (51). Manny Machado’s Early Life

Manny Machado was raised in Florida by his mother Rosa Nunez, grandfather Francisco Nunez and uncle Geovanny Brito. He attended the Brito Miami Private School in Miami, where he played baseball for the school team, Brito Panthers. After hjis school career, he joined the Florida International University to play collegiate baseball for the Golden Panthers baseball team.

However, the Baltimore Orioles drafted him with the 3rd overall pick in 2010. He instead played for the USA Baseball 19 and under national team. For the Orioles, he played in various minor league teams like the Gulf Coast League Orioles (presently Florida Complex League Orioles), Aberdeen Ironbirds, Delmarva Shorebirds and Bowie Baysox. He also played for the Frederick Keys, a collegiate baseball teram. Machado eventually made his debut in the MLB with the Orioles on August 9, 2012.
