Tarik Daniel Skubal is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Detroit Tigers in the Major League Baseball (MLB). Also called Tarik Skubal, he was initially selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2017. However, he refused to join and played collegiate baseball for the Seattle Redhawks baseball team at Seattle University. However, he was once again selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 2018 MLB Draft, and this time, he accepted.
Tarik Skubal made his first MLB appearance with the Detroit Tigers on August 18, 2020. Since then, he has gone on to compete in his first-ever MLB All-Star game and AL All-Star award in 2024. He made another AL All-Star Award in 2025. Additionally, he has also earned the MLB Players' Choice AL Outstanding Pitcher Award as well as the AL Cy Young Award in 2024.
