Tarik Daniel Skubal is an American baseball pitcher for the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball (MLB). Better known in the league as Tarik Skubal, he been drafted by the team in the ninth round of the 2018 MLB Draft, he first made his presence in the major leagues on August 18, 2020. He made his first MLB appearance with the Detroit Tigers on August 18, 2020. Prior to that, he was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 29th round of the 2017 MLB Draft. However, he chose to attend University of Seattle to continue his collegiate baseball career there. Tarik Skubal is notable for playing his first MLB All-Star game and earning his first AL All-Star award in 2024. He has also won the AL Cy Young Award wih the team the same year. Previously, he had won AL Pitcher of the Month Award with the team in October 2023.
