Starting of Free Agency in MLB

When such players are released by their team, they have a choice to sign with any team based on the contract they provide. However, If a player has less than six years of experience but signs with a team, he will remain under the control of that team until he completes the required time to become a free agent. This is also applicable even if his contract does not include the remaining years for him to be a free agent.

Notably, free agency for players the day after the MLB World Series games complete as per the MLB official site.
