During his prep days, he was honored with several awards, including McDonald's All-American, Jordan Brand Classic, USA Basketball Nike Hoop Summit, and USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Select Team in 2024, as per his college roster. Additionally, he was also named as an honorable mention for the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy High School All-America. He was voted Mr. New York Basketball by the Basketball Coaches Association of New York. While he was in his junior year, Fland registered 18.11 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists with 2.0 steals per contest. He was selected for the USA Basketball National Team in 2024. Additionally, he led the USA Basketball U17 National team to a gold medal at the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup, as per his college roster.
