As a kid, Bear enrolled in five different high schools in four years before starting his collegiate football career. He began his high school career at Terrell High School before joining Denton Ryan High School late in the 2020 season where he helped them secure the Texas 5A state championship. Bear was ranked a four-star recruit and the No.43 overall player in his class of 2022 and had several offers from some of the top programs in the nation including Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, Miami.

Bear embarked on his collegiate football journey with the Georgia Bulldogs where he served as a depth and rotational player in his freshman season in 2022. He played 12 out of 15 games and recorded nine total tackles, 2 QB sacks and 13 QB hurries.
