Horvath earned accolades including First-Team All-Ohio Capital Conference honors and recognition as the Offensive Player of the Year. He joined the Navy football team in 2022 but did not see significant playing time until 2023. During his sophomore year, he made an immediate impact, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities as both a passer and a runner. In his first game against North Texas, he completed 6 of 12 passes for 84 yards and rushed for 183 yards on 37 carries.

One of Horvath's most notable performances occurred during a game against Memphis, where he scored a remarkable 90-yard touchdown run, contributing to an upset victory for the Navy. By October 2024, he had already thrown multiple touchdown passes in several games, including a standout performance where he launched a 68-yard touchdown pass, marking one of the longest completions by a Navy quarterback in recent years.
