Trey Amos is an American football cornerback for the Washington Commanders of the NFL. The Commanders grabbed him in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft with the 61st overall pick. The New Iberia, Louisiana, native attended Catholic-New Iberia High School. He began his college football career at Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. Throughout his career at Louisiana, Trey Amos played 34 games in three seasons. At the Ragin' Cajuns, he registered 59 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 14 pass breakups, one forced fumble, one interception, and one blocked kick. In 2022, he played 11 games and recorded 35 tackles. He transferred to Alabama Crimson Tide in 2023, playing in all 14 games and starting once. In 2024, he joined the Ole Miss Rebels, where he started all 13 games and received All-SEC recognition. In 2024, Amos earned numerous recognitions, including All-America Second Team by Sporting News & CFN, All-America Honorable Mention by CBS Sports & Phil Steele, All-SEC First Team by Coaches & CFN, and All-SEC Second Team by Phil Steele.
Trey Amos had a remarkable career at Catholic-New Iberia High School, being an all-around athlete in football, basketball, and track & field. He led his school football team to the state championship in 2017, the state championship finals in 2018, and the state championship semifinals in 2019. He also won the 7-2A District MVP in 2018. In track & field, he won the Class 2A state title in the long jump category with a jump of 22 feet, 9.75 inches. As a three-star prospect, he was ranked as the No. 63 player in the state of Louisiana by 247Sports.
