
Jarquez Hunter is a running back who played his college senior season for the Auburn Tigers in the Southeastern Conference. Jarquez Hunter hails from Philadelphia, Mississippi. During his prep days, Hunter played for Neshoba Central Rockets High School, where 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN ranked him among the top 12 overall prospects in the state. Apart from playing football, Hunter also lettered in basketball and track. He began his college football career in 2021 and, as a true freshman tailback, he was honored with the SEC all-freshman team. He also became the first freshman to rush for 100+ yards in the season opener since Onterrio McCalebb in 2009.
In 2022, Hunter recorded 675 rushing yards and was ranked 41st in the history of the program’s rushers. The following year, he returned as a starter at the tailback position and recorded his 2,172 career rushing yards to be ranked 18th in Auburn history. As a senior, he was honored with first-team All-SEC. He also recorded a career-best 1,201 yards rushing in 2024. Hunter is a College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment graduate, as per his roster on the Tigers website. Additionally, he is also graduating from the College of Liberal Arts.
