Praveen Kumar, who represented Kings XI Punjab from 2011-2013 would relish the prospect of coming back to his former franchise. One of the best new-ball bowlers in the IPL, Praveen would be effective with his swing at the start of the innings.

The experienced Uttar Pradesh pacer represented the now-defunct, Gujarat Lions in the 2016 and 2017 editions. He has also made valuable contributions with the bat down the order for his franchises over the years.

In 119 IPL matches, he has scored 344 runs at a strike-rate of 109.20, with his highest score being 34. He has taken 90 wickets at an economy of 7.72, with his best figures being 3/18. With the likes of Mohit Sharma and Barinder Sran proving ineffective this season, Punjab need to go for Praveen next season.

Andrew Tye had a wonderful season with 24 scalps for Punjab in the 2018 IPL. Also, the 24-year old Ankit Rajpoot looked impressive this season, picking up 11 wickets. So, expect him to partner Praveen Kumar (in IPL 2019) who he went unsold at this year's auction with a base price of INR 50 lakh. Praveen Kumar still has the age and potential to deliver in the IPL.
