Royal Challengers Bangalore have always had the most star-studded batting order in the history of the Indian Premier League. However, they haven’t won the IPL trophy despite reaching the grand finale in three seasons. Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise has given 4 centurions to the league who share 12 centuries amongst them while playing for the Bold Army.

They stand no.1 in the teams' statistics for scoring centuries in the IPL with 12 followed by Kings XI Punjab (10) and Chennai Super Kings sharing the 3rd position with Delhi Daredevils with 7 centuries each. Here are the 4 players who have scored a century while playing for the Bangalore side-

#4 Virat Kohli (4 centuries, all in 2016)

The skipper of RCB had scored 4 centuries in the ninth edition of IPL. He hadn’t scored a single century when the season began but the right-handed batsman ended the campaign with four 100s to his name.

Kohli's first century came against the season debutantes Gujarat Lions where he brought up his 100 on the last ball of the innings. However, the Suresh Raina led GL chased down the target of 182 with 3 balls to spare as Virat’s effort went in vain.

That was the only 100 which Virat scored outside Bengaluru as the Delhite pulled three IPL centuries inside 11 days playing at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Batting second against MS Dhoni’s Rising Pune Supergiant, Kohli’s 108* (58) helped his side achieve the target of 195 with ease. Virat was up against the Gujarat Lions again and once again he crossed the 3 digit score (109) but this time he had the support of AB de Villiers (128*). The duo put on 229 for the 2nd wicket to tame the lions from Rajkot.

Four nights later, Virat’s side was up against the Kings XI Punjab in a must-win encounter. The officials curtailed the match to 15 overs-a-side thanks to the heavy rains. But such was the dominance of Kohli in 2016 that in-spite of having stitches on his left hand, he scored 113 and helped RCB win the match by 82 runs.

#3 Chris Gayle (5 Centuries)

RCB signed up Christopher Henry Gayle as a replacement for the injured Dirk Nannes in 2011. Never did anyone know that the player who had gone unsold in the auctions would set the tournament on fire.

The Jamaican blew away the KKR bowling unit with a 102* (55) in his debut match for RCB. There was no stopping him from then on as he won the Orange Cap in 2011. Gayle also holds the record for the highest individual score (175 vs PWI, 2013) in the IPL.

The Universe Boss’ last century (117) while playing for RCB, came against his current IPL team Kings XI Punjab on 6th May 2015 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Gayle had also scored a century against the Mohali-based franchise in 2011 at the very same ground. He scored a 128* against the Delhi Daredevils in 2012 as Gayle along with Kohli put on 204 for the 2nd wicket at Feroz Shah Kotla.

#2 AB de Villiers (2 Centuries)

AB de Villiers has repeatedly proven himself as the best t20 batsman on the planet with his heroics with the bat. De Villiers started his IPL career playing for the Delhi Daredevils but switched to the Bangalore-based franchise 3 years later. He has been the cornerstone of the Bold Army ever since and has played a plethora of match-winning innings for his team.

Mr. 360 has 2 centuries to his name while donning the red jersey. On 10th May 2015, AB de Villiers smashed the Mumbai Indians bowlers all over the Wankhede Stadium to bring up his second century in his IPL career (He had scored one playing for DD in 2009).

AB de Villiers continued the same form in season 9 as he took the Gujarat Lions bowlers to the cleaners with his big hitting abilities and joined hands with skipper Virat Kohli as the duo piled 229 runs for the 2nd wicket. The home side thrashed the Gujarat Lions by a humongous margin of 144 runs.

#1 Manish Pandey (1 Century)

With big stars like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag playing in the league, nobody expected a young Manish Pandey to become the first Indian to score an IPL century.

Playing in overseas conditions, Pandey proved his talent by scoring 114* off 73 balls against the Adam Gilchrist led Deccan Chargers. Manish opened the innings with Jacques Kallis and played the entire 20 overs to lead his team to 170/4. No other RCB batsman could cross the 25 run mark.

Pandey etched his names into the history books with that magnificent innings and will always be remembered as the first Indian to score an IPL 100.

None of the RCB players could cross the three-digit mark in the last two seasons but with a bunch of talent in the form of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Mandeep Singh and Quinton de Kock associated with the franchise, we should definitely expect some fireworks in 2019.
