Reaching the tail-end of their IPL careers, these players might find themselves lucky to play for their first ever IPL teams in the dusk of their expedition.


#5 Amit Mishra - Delhi Daredevils

He is the second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL

Amit Mishra started his career with Delhi Daredevils in 2008. He has been the most consistent leg-spinner in the history of the tournament, picking a record-making three hat-tricks in his journey and that too for three different franchises.

In 2011, he went on to play for Deccan Chargers and then Sunrisers Hyderabad but returned to DD in 2015 to ply his skills for them. In the 2018 auction, the 35-year-old was again signed by his home side and could be his last franchise in his successful IPL career.

#4 Murali Vijay - Chennai Super Kings

The Indian opener made his IPL debut in 2009 for Chennai Super Kings. Murali Vijay's memories with the yellows have been gratifying as he played a vital role in CSK's maiden title triumph in 2010, the season where he scored his first IPL century - 127 off just 56 balls.

Furthermore, 'the monk' scored match-winning 95 in 2011 finals and led his team to consecutive title wins, a feat that only CSK has achieved.

After spending a few years with DD and KXIP, the 33-year-old was roped-in by CSK once again in 2018 auctions, and he won't be bothered if his career ends with them.

#3 Yuvraj Singh - Kings XI Punjab

The left-hander from Chandigarh started his IPL career with Kings XI Punjab in the inaugural season, where he led the side for two years. Yuvraj Singh holds a unique record of picking the most number of hat-tricks in a season - two in 2009.

In 2011, the southpaw left KXIP and proceeded to play for four different franchises in seven years namely Pune Warriors India, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, before being picked up by KXIP at his base price in 2018.

Turning 37 this year, it might be his ultimate franchise in the IPL.

#2 Gautam Gambhir - Delhi Daredevils

The two-time IPL winning captain, Gautam Gambhir started his journey with Delhi Daredevils in 2008. He spent three years with his home side before being bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011.

He is one of the most consistent opening batsmen in the IPL history, scoring fifty in every fourth inning on an average. After spending a majority of his career with KKR, Gauti was signed once again by DD for ₹2.80 crores.

The 36-year-old is set to lead the Delhi based team, which could well be his last IPL franchise.

The captain cool was bagged in by Chennai Super Kings as the most expensive player in the inaugural season, soon after becoming the leader of the Indian Cricket Team in 2008.MS Dhoni took CSK's success to dizzying heights and entering the playoffs turned out to be a cakewalk for them, as he became the only captain to play six finals in the IPL history.

Some controversial matters compelled him to join Rising Pune Supergiants for a two-year period, but he is set to rejoin his 'second-home' after Ranchi this year. Coming at the tail of his career, the 36-year-old could write his final chapter in the IPL with CSK.
