Australia Cricket World Cup Team

Australia announced their 15-man squad for the 2019 ICC World Cup on April 15, 2019. The Australian contingent looks very strong on paper and the defending champions would be hoping that it delivers on the field too. With some brilliant performance the Aussies successfully cleared the league stage and entered the Semis of World Cup 2019. They will face England in the semi final. The squad is comprised of five genuine batsmen: Aaron Finch, David Warner, Steven Smith, Usman Khawaja and Shaun Marsh, one wicket keeper batsman: Alex Carey, three all-rounders: Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and Pat Cummins, and six bowlers out of which four are pacers: Jason Behrendorff, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Kane Richardson, and two spinners: Nathan Lyon and Adam Zampa. Originally Jhye Richardson was the fourth fast bowler but he was ruled out of the tournament due to a dislocated shoulder and was replaced by Kane Richardson.

Below is the Australian Squad for the world cup 2019:

Analysis of the Batting Order:

Warner, Usman Khawaja and Aaron Finch are going to be the three opening options for Australia. Steven Smith would follow the trio. Alex Carey, the wicketkeeper batsman can be expected to bat at #5. The all rounders Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis will follow next. The tail end of the Australian cricket team will then bat at #7 to #11.

Australia's Bowling options:

Aaron Finch will be having his hands full when it comes to his bowlers. We can expect Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon to feature in every game for Australia. Depending on the demand of the pitch conditions two of the three other pacers would be included in the choice. The young spinner Adam Zampa can be expected to be included at some point in the tournament.

Team Changes:

Peter Handscomb come in as replacement for Shaun Marsh. Mitchell Marsh and Matthew Wade into the squad as cover for Usman Khawaja and Marcus Stoinis who got injured recently during their last league match against South Africa.
