The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) concluded on June 3 (Tuesday) with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lifting their maiden IPL title in 18 years. It was a historic moment for the franchise, especially Virat Kohli who still remains the only player to have played for just one franchise.

A few days have passed since the tournament's conclusion and it's time to relook at some of the best performances of the season. For the first time in its history, the competition went on for about two and a half months after an unexpected week-long break in between.

The cricketing competition between bat and ball was of the highest order and it has improved with each passing season. It was no different this time around, with some of the youngsters producing performances which will be etched in the annals of IPL cricket.

Like all the previous editions, the right-handers played a crucial role in moulding the shape of the team. With the tournament having ended, now let us have a look at the best right-handed XI of IPL 2025:

Kohli has been one of the most consistent batters in the history of the IPL and produced another dominating season, scoring 657 runs at an average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71 with eight half-centuries under his belt. He batted according to the game situation and played a match-winning role on several occasions.

Shubman Gill was lingering at the top of the orange cap list and was at his staggering best at the top of the order along with Sai Sudharsan. The stylish-looking right-hander scored 650 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of 155.87 and an average of 50 with five fifties under his belt.

# Middle order and all-rounders- Jos Buttler, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Tim David

Another consistent performer for the Gujarat Titans, Jos Buttler ensured that the top three did the bulk of the scoring and the middle and the lower middle order weren't required much.

The swashbuckling opener had to bat at an unfamiliar position of number three but he didn't disappoint, scoring 538 runs at an average of 59.77 and a strike rate of 163.03 with five fifties.

The most valuable player of the season, Suryakumar Yadav, was at his phenomenal best in the middle overs and became the only player in the history of T20 cricket to score 25+ in 15 consecutive games.

He finished the season with 717 runs in 16 matches at a strike rate of 167.91 and an average of 65.18 with five half-centuries. Shreyas Iyer had a season of two halves. While he led the Punjab Kings admirably throughout the tournament, his numbers at Mullanpur left a lot to be desired.

However it was totally opposite when it came to grounds outside Mullanpur. He was at his ominous best and the knock against the Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 is one of the best in the history of the tournament, especially the pressure Punjab was under. He scored 604 runs in 17 matches at an average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 175.07.

Hardik Pandya had a good all-round season and led the Mumbai Indians till Qualifier 2, only to lose out to Punjab Kings and the brilliance of Shreyas Iyer. Hardik chipped in with some important quickfire cameos towards the back end and also took 15 wickets, including a five-wicket haul against LSG.

David might not have scored a truckload of runs but he made a significant impact as the finisher for RCB. He missed out the last few matches due to an injury but made a stellar impact in the group matches, scoring 187 runs off just 101 deliveries.

# Bowlers- Varun Chakaravarthy, Prasidh Krishna, Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood

Chakaravathy has been a go-to bowler for every KKR captain in the last few years, and it was no different in 2025. Despite KKR’s below-par showing, the mystery spinner maintained his consistency and finished as one of the leading wicket takers in the tournament. He took 17 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 22.52 and a strike rate of 7.66.

Prasidh Krishna discovered a new lease of life in T20 cricket, emerging as the premier wicket-taker for the Gujarat Titans in the recently concluded season. He used his cutters into the surface to good effect and mixed it up perfectly with his pace on deliveries. He finished the tournament as the purple cap holder with 25 wickets at an average of 19.52 and an economy rate of 8.27.

Now, how do you keep Jasprit Bumrah out of any team, especially in his current form? After returning from injury, Bumrah didn't take much time to get into his rhythm and bowled some breathtaking deliveries, none more special than the one he bowled to Washington Sundar in the eliminator.

Josh Hazlewood ended the competition as RCB’s premier fast bowler, and it was his consistency in his lengths which earned him consistent wickets throughout the tournament. He stuck to the hard lengths and picked 22 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 17.54.

Impact Sub: Digvesh Rathi

One of the finds of IPL 2025, Digvesh Singh Rathi, became Rishabh Pant’s most trusted bowler as the tournament progressed and he didn't disappoint.

Some animated notebook celebrations did cost him a few penny and a suspension but from the bowling front, he was LSG’s best bowler and ended up picking 14 wickets in 13 matches.
