Anureet Singh played his first game of IPL 2016 for Kings XI Punjab. Chris Gayle didn’t make the playing eleven for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Royal Challengers Bangalore was off to a roaring start. Lokesh Rahul continued his fine form. He scored 42 runs off just 25 balls. With that brilliant opening partnership of 63 runs, the stage was set perfectly for the middle order. That didn’t happen, though. RCB lost two quick wickets.

AB de Villiers came in next and scored a brilliant half-century. RCB put 175 runs on the board.

It was not Marcus Stoinis this time. Hashim Amla opened the batting along with Murali Vijay. Murali Vijay batted well and scored a well-paced half-century. That was his third of the season. Vijay and Stoinis put 51 runs for the fourth wicket. Interestingly, Vijay scored 42 runs in that partnership.

Stoinis played a stunner in the final over. KXIP almost tasted a win against RCB. They lost the match by one run.

Virat Kohli extends his lead in the most run-scorers chart. He has two centuries to his name in IPL 9. SRH’s David Warner follows him with 458 runs at an average of 65.42. AB de Villiers moves up. While Murali Vijay enters the leading run-scorers chart.

There wasn’t much for KXIP’s bowlers in the first six overs. RCB was on a song during the powerplay.

KC Cariappa took two crucial wickets right after. He dismissed Kohli and Rahul in a single over.

Chahal struck gold for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He took two wickets in as many balls. David Miller went for a duck.

Trivia: This is David Miller’s first duck in IPL.

Shane Watson dismissed Murali Vijay. This shifted the tide in RCB’s favour.

Andre Russell leads the top wicket-takers chart with fourteen wickets. Mitchell McClenaghan follows him with fourteen wickets as well.
