Imran Tahir- 7/10

In what appeared to be a below average bowling performance by Pune, Tahir’s spell was the lone bright spot. He conceded only 24 runs in his four overs and also picked up one wicket which earned him the Purple cap.

Adam Zampa- 5/10

Everything went well for Zampa until his last over. That was when Morris and Samson belted Zampa for 22 runs in the 19th over of the innings and spoiled Zampa’s bowling figures. The Australian leggie bowled tidily in the middle overs and grabbed the wicket of Sampson.

Deepak Chahar- 4/10

Chahar was given the responsibility of opening the bowling and he responded by picking up Tare on his first ball of the night. But after that nothing went in his favour as he even failed to complete his bowling quota. With the bat, he did smash two sixes but by that time the match was already over.

Mayank Agarwal - 3/10

He made his presence felt during fielding by accounting for Pant’s run out and showed intent while batting as he scored a four in the first over itself. But, Agarwal failed to make any significant impact with the bat in this match.

Rajat Bhatia- 2/10

Bhatia had a poor outing with the ball as well as the bat. He went for 21 in his two overs and was out for 16 runs.

MS Dhoni- 2/10

He may have stepped down from captaincy, but even today MS Dhoni is the most significant force in Pune’s camp. He was decent behind the wickets but with the bat, he could only contribute 11 runs.

Ben Stokes- 2/10

Stokes and his tryst with the last over continued. His six deliveries were not as bad as the ones he bowled to Braithwaite but surely this will rank highly in the list of his worst performances. After being effective for the first three, the Englishman was thrashed for 23 runs in the final over by Morris and Stokes as he ended with figures of 41 for none after four. He failed miserably with the willow as well, scoring only two runs.

Rahul Tripathi- 1/10

For a youngster, nothing works better than IPL for showcasing your talent. This Maharashtra batsman had a big opportunity today as Pune offered him the number four slot in their batting line up. But Tripathi managed to stay only for five balls. He scored a boundary off the first ball he faced but was eventually out for ten runs.

Ajinkya Rahane – 1/10

In the absence of Smith, Rahane was given the captaincy but, Rahane failed to weave any magic in the field. Using Zampa in the 19th over was a huge mistake and even in the middle overs, he failed to produce any brilliance. While chasing 206 runs Pune expected a flying start from Rahane, but the skipper went to back to pavilion in the third over only.

Faf du Plessis- 1/10

du Plessis came in the team because Smith was injured and he too failed to make any impact. Batting at number three, the South African batsman managed only eight runs failed to handle the scoreboard pressure.

Ashok Dinda- 1/10

It looks like Dinda hasn't learned anything from his mistakes from the previous games. He was once again torn apart in the death overs as his missed his mark and failed to bowl according to plans. His future in the XI looks unsure after this drubbing.
