There's hardly a month left for the world's most popular domestic T20 league to begin. This year's Indian Premier League is going to be a blockbuster as it marks the return of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

Seamers have always played a big role in every aspect of the game. IPL has also been successful in bringing out seamers like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Sidharth Kaul etc.

Let's go through the seamers from each franchise who can be a threat to all the batsmen and will be up for the purple cap. The current purple cap holder is Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who will be up to win the purple cap for the third consecutive year.

Mitchell Starc was the best buy for the Knight Riders in this year's IPL Auction. He was bought for a price of Rs. 9.40 Cr. It was certain that he would be bought for a whopping price, looking at his numbers in all three formats of the game.

He has played twenty T20Is in his career and bagged 30 wickets at a fantastic economy of 6.78. Apart from this, in his 72 ODI matches, he has bagged 141 wickets at an exceptional economy of 4.93. His dangerous bouncers and sticky yorkers haven't left any of the world class batsmen untroubled.

Starc has immensely contributed to the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous editions. He played 27 matches for them and bagged 34 wickets at a decent economy of 7.17. He will be up to represent a different team altogether and would be looking forward to disturbing all the batsmen with his pace and bounce.

In the 34 T20Is he's played, he has bagged 41 wickets at an exceptional economy of 6.86. He also proved to be a highly effective bowler with the red ball against South Africa earlier this year. If we talk about his ODI Career, he has bagged 64 wickets in his 37 matches at an incredible economy of 4.65.

Bumrah has evolved as a successful bowler in international cricket due to his consistency in the IPL. In the last edition, he bagged 20 wickets in 16 matches at an economy of 7.35. Bumrah will hope to trouble the batsmen with his yorkers and win the purple cap for the first time.

In his short international career, he has played six T20Is he has bagged eight wickets. He was also adjudged as the Man of the Match in the second match of Nidahas Trophy for his figures of 4/27.

Thakur found his berth in international cricket due to his performance in his first-class career. He has played 55 matches and bagged a mouthwatering 188 wickets at a sensational economy of 3.10.

Thakur will be up for an altogether different team this season and would be looking to make an impact this season.

He has played 16 T20Is in his career and bagged 22 wickets. He was also the youngest bowler to become the world's No.1 bowler. In his ODI Career, he has bagged 75 wickets in his 48 matches at an impressive average of 5.11.

Rabada will be looking forward to continue his exemplary performance in the IPL and prove to be a threat to all the batsman.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar - Sunrisers Hyderabad

Tye has played 12 T20Is and bagged 16 wickets at a decent strike rate of 16.25. His credibility increases when we look onto his ODI Career. He has played four ODIs and bagged eight wickets at an exceptional strike rate of 4.63. He also has a five-wicket hall in his ODI Career.

Tye proved to be an effective player for the Gujarat Lions in the last season where he bagged 12 wickets in 6 matches at an incredible economy of 6.71. He also proved to be a hard-hitting batsman when he scored 30 runs against Mumbai Indians.

Royal Challengers Bangalore - Nathan Coulter Nile
